Korean Psychedelic Rock in 70s

In early spring 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I randomly came across a song called "Haenim" by Kim Jung Mi on Spotify, and I immediately fell deeply in love with it. It was the first time I felt a strong connection to a Korean song. Before that, I thought most Korean music was similar to K-pop, which didn't align with my horizon of expectations of music. After discovering Kim Jung Mi, I explored more artists in this genre, including Shin Joong Hyun, Jang Hyun, Lee Jeong Seon, and Kim Kwang Seok.

I don't understand Korean at all, so I'm not sure how these artists are categorized locally. Based on the limited English information available, most of this music is considered psychedelic rock or folk rock from the '70s and '80s. According to some articles, these artists were influenced by Western rock and folk. Shin Joong Hyun, known as the godfather of Korean rock, began his music career in clubs in Itaewon, a famous multicultural area near the USFK base.
